Frequently Asked Questions
What if I’ve never been to therapy before?
That’s completely okay, and actually quite common. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting. Therapy is a space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals at your own pace. I’ll guide you through the process and make sure you feel supported every step of the way.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’d like to work on, and how therapy can support your goals. There’s no pressure to share everything right away. You're in control of the pace.
How long are sessions, and how often do we meet?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long. Many clients begin with weekly sessions, but we can adjust the frequency based on your needs and availability.
Do you offer online or in-person therapy?
I currently only offer virtual sessions.
What are your fees, and do you offer a sliding scale?
My standard rate is $105 per 50-minute session. I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots to make therapy more accessible. Please feel free to ask if cost is a barrier.
Can I use my insurance?
Most extended health benefit plans cover psychotherapy services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist or a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) under supervision. I recommend checking with your provider to confirm your specific coverage.
Do I need to have a mental health diagnosis to see you?
Not at all. Many people come to therapy without a formal diagnosis. You’re welcome to come in just because something feels off, you’re facing a life transition, or you want support navigating relationships, stress, or personal growth.
